Snow showers are expected today and they might be quite heavy at times. The temperature will be around 27 degrees making it feel chilly outside. A strong breeze will blow from the west-southwest reaching speeds of 16 to 20 miles per hour with gusts that could hit 39 miles per hour. There is an 80% chance of snow so it’s a good idea to prepare for some white stuff falling from the sky. Throughout the day we could see a total of 3 to 5 inches of snow covering everything in a beautiful blanket of white.
Groomed snow is usually nice and smooth mostly made up of packed powder that feels soft under your skis or snowboard. However you might come across some spots where the wind has blown away the lighter snow leaving behind hardpack that is firmer and less forgiving. When you venture off-piste the snow can be a bit tricky. The snow is not evenly spread as it sits over a base of hardpack and bumps known as moguls. While you may find some powder it’s not deep enough to be called bottomless so be careful and keep your eyes open for any hidden obstacles.
